Jay wrote this book because of his deep belief in America and what our country can achieve if can fulfill our full potential. The book celebrates America’s traditional values while also proposing a new concept, Modern Patriotism, as way to unlock the power of the human spirit. American Sunshine provides a refreshing new perspective on how to approach life’s toughest challenges and how to overcome obstacles thru a positive #CanDo approach.

Newport Sunshine Initiative
Founded in January of 2018, the Newport Sunshine Initiative is a positive effort committed to the Revitalization of Newport, New Hampshire. Growing up in Newport, Jay enjoyed the strengths of a close knit community with solid small town values, a bustling main street and a strong economic base.
The Newport Sunshine Initiative is focused on reigniting the town’s economic engine with a ‘can do’ approach and an optimistic spirit, while also celebrating a renewed sense of pride.
Working together with community leaders, business owners, and residents in the Greater Newport area, a positive resurgence has begun and new opportunities are being created. Newport is on the move. Children of Fallen Patriots
In 1989, five days before Christmas, Sergeant William Delaney Gibbs from the 7th Infantry Division was killed in action during Operation Just Cause in Panama, leaving behind a young wife and an unborn daughter. Our Founder and CEO, David Kim, served with Sergeant Gibbs and was inspired by his sacrifice and never forgot about Sergeant Gibb’s or his daughter.
David Kim returned to the United States and founded Children of Fallen Patriots in 2002. Since 2002, Children of Fallen Patriots has grown in its mission and vision to extend peace of mind through college scholarships to Gold Star families in all 50 states, in all branches of the military.
Jay is happy to be one of the leaders of Children of Fallen Patriots in New Hampshire, helping to raise funds every year for this vital program.
